Can anyone form an Irish company?
Yes! However, you must have at least two Directors, one of which must live in Ireland, and a Secretary. Your company must also have a physical location in Ireland (registered office address).

You must have at least two Directors and a Secretary. One of the directors can also serve as Secretary, so you must have a minimum of two people.
What constitutes a company?
A company is a legal entity consisting of at least two directors, at least one secretary and shareholders or members. The shareholders may be the directors and secretaries or they may be additional investors or members.
How is a company structured?
Directors are responsible for the day to day operations of a company. Secretaries are responsible for general housekeeping duties within the company, including filing taxes and maintaining current contact information with the CRO. Shareholders own the company by purchasing stock in the company.
What do I have to know in order to register my company?
You will need to know the name of your new company; names and addresses of all directors, secretaries and shareholders; and the official address for the company. If the registration questionnaire asks a question that you don’t have the answer to, you can always save your progress and return to complete it when you have the information.
What identification do I need?
None. But you will need a witness to sign the documents once the directors, secretaries, and shareholders of your company have signed them.
Is a signature required?
Yes. Once you download the documents for your company, they will need to be signed by all the directors, secretaries and shareholders. You will also need the signature of a solicitor or someone with the power of oats, this is to witness the documents, each signature should cost 10Euro only and you’ll only need 2.
What is your fee?
SetMyCompanyUp.ie charges 49.95Euro to use our system and the CRO charges an additional 100Euro. You will also need to get a solicitor to witness the documents that requires 2 signatures at a cost of 10Euro each.

How long will it take to fill out the questionnaire?
Most people complete the process in less than 15 minutes. If your company is a simple one with few directors, secretaries and shareholders, it will probably be much shorter. Your documents will be available immediately upon completion of the questionnaire.

What if I need a refund?
Refunds are only available in exceptional circumstances and are given at our discretion. To request a refund, you must contact us by post or email. In your communication, please state the complete reason you are requesting a refund. No refunds will be given as a result of company name rejection, decision to terminate the company or not complete the registration process.
Company Seals – Do you provide them?
No we don’t provide company seals/stamps, since setting up our business we haven’t ever had to use one. If you’d really like one you can call a company seals maker. The basic seal costs about ?35+Vat or ?99+Vat for a fancy pack
Solicitors Signature how much?
You can get any standard family solicitor to sign or as it’s called ’swear’ a document, this normally costs about ?10 per signature. Some accountants can also ’swear’ a document.
